The Champions League final between Bayern M��nchen Vs Inter Milan will take place on Saturday 22nd May 2010 in Spain at the at the Bernab��u Stadium (home of Real Madrid).

Both sides football managers are well known to each other, as Jos�� Mourhino was once Louis van Gaal's assistant he was in charge at Barcelona.

Bayern Munich, who are new champions of Germany beat Olympique Lyon 1-0 in order to progress to the quarter final clash against Manchester United, which proved more difficult and eventually won 3-2 on away goals. To a certain extent, Bayern Munich have relied on away goals which they also needed to beat Florentina.

Inter Milan beat sailed through the quarter finals against CSKA Moscow and thene won both matches against Chelsea. In the quarter final Inter Milan beat Catalonia 3-1 on aggregate before going on to beat the holders FC Barcelona in the semi-final. .

Bayern Munich and Inter Milan have previously met four times before. The first time was in 1988 and Bayern Munich claimed victory by winning on away goals. The last time was in 2006 during the Champions League, where they drew 1-1 in Munich after Bayern Munich had won 2-0 away.

Bayern Munich have won the Champions League four times, the last time was in 2001 then subsequently in 1976, 1975 and 1974 before the name Champions league evolved. Bayern Munich have been runners up three times, in 1982, 1987 and 1999. Inter Milan's record is not so good, having won it two times and both occassions back in 1964 and 1965. Inter did however, come runner up in 1967 and 1972, but the closest they have come has been more than 30 years ago.
